Grilling in Marfa
Marfa sits where Texas gets quiet and the sky takes over. I pulled in at sundown with a grill, a sack of charcoal, no plan in sight. The wind nosed through a cracked fence board as the coals turned red. My mysterious companion pointed toward the pasture at lights nobody could explain. I flipped the steaks and kept my head down. Figured some mysteries are better left until the meat is done.

Who is Lucky Jack?
My grandfather, "Lucky" Jack Jones lived the kind of stories families pass down. He crossed the Mojave in a dying jeep, worked his way up the Amazon, prospected in the frozen north, and slipped through the Louisiana bayous with gators at his heels. Wherever he went, he started prepared, fixed what needed fixin'. His story is a reminder that the right tools, steady hands, and a bit of grit can carry a man through anything.
